Yes. Therapy intensives are 1hr and 50 minutes long, cost $300, and are only available to established clients, meaning those who have had at least a 50 min intake. Therapy intensives are NOT covered by insurance, and are not eligible for superbills.

The purpose of therapy intensives is to dig deeper into unresolved trauma, unpack family of origin dynamics, or get more “into the weeds” than we can in a typical 53 minute session. These are mainly for folks who have been to therapy before and feel the existing 53 minute time slots available to therapy clients aren’t working for them.

At this time, I do NOT take Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, or United Health Care. I offer a complimentary superbill for every session, which is basically a fancy receipt you can turn into your insurance company (usually when you login as a member under the “Claims” tab). However, I can’t tell you how much money they are going to give you back. In order to get a quote for how much your out-of-network (OON) benefits are going to give you, you’re going to want to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask what they reimburse for a CPT code 90791 (the first therapy appointment) and a 90837 (every therapy appointment after that).

Trauma from purity culture a form of religious trauma caused by growing up in environments (often conservative Christian or Mormon, but not exclusively) that taught sex, sexual thoughts, and even normal sexual development are shameful, dangerous, or sinful.

These messages often embed themselves in the body, showing up as trauma responses that can look strikingly similar to what survivors of sexual abuse experience, even without a single identifiable traumatic event.
